Dangerous Sea. Tacking Point. NSW
Located on the Mid North Coast of NSW this lighthouse, one of several of the same design, looks out across the Pacific Ocean from the East Coast of Australia. Whilst it lacks the size and grandeur of larger lighthouses it, nevertheless, has a vital role to play. In this painting I have taken a lower viewpoint from the sea and with rhythmic, quick, bold strokes indicated something of the dangerous waters. I tried to bring a vertical visual line from the sky down through the lighthouse, leading the eye to the water (leaving white paper in the sky at left and right).
