Nice one Alan and you bring home to me the necessity of doing this sort of exercise as my latest attempt at a pure watercolour is rubbish and even enhanced with ink lines, it's still even more rubbish. Must try harder.

Fiona thank you for your kind remarks. Trying to loosen up - trying is the operative word and plots of paper in the bin. At first experimented with a Hake but certainly on Saunders I find a large (size 16) sable best for controlling the wet against wet washes. And well done your "Muddy Lane" - I think your pen and washes recently are striking and quite rightly have had a lot of nice posts.
