Very nice Alan! As ever ,you make painting scenes like these look easy! Steve Hall used to come to our art group once a year. Lovely man and so talented too! I also have one of his paintings which I stare at quite often, wondering how to get a certain effect etc, etc ... All the best :)

Thank you Stephen, Denis, Michael, Frank, Max and Sarah for your comments. I found this scene very difficult to paint loosely and I think might have been better with Bockingford NOT paper. Anyway very kind of you all to take the time to look at it.

Studio painting from on-site sketch and photographs on High White Saunders Rough 12" x 9". Would have preferred an on-site painting but the weather was against this. The Winkle Shed , "Winkles at the Ferry' offers lobster and crab, fish and chips, all day breakfast, and snacks and drinks with a lovely view over the River Deben. Visited the area with Steve Hall in April because this place was on my short list as I had previously bought one of his paintings of the boatyard. If you like painting boats I recommend a visit.
