Thanks everybody for the comments. 'Other' hand helps loosen up, even if accidentaly, but I think I'll revert to the trusted right in future.

Well clearly, you should use your left hand again - actually, unless you're practising painting after a stroke, I don't see a lot of point in this sort of exercise; I think it's what an art group might do if it's run a bit short of ideas.... BUT - a) it's certainly fascinating to do it; b) you've produced a REALLY good painting by doing it; c) even I, Cynicism-Central, can see that this could sharpen one's perception and spatial recognition; and d) if nothing else, it's a bit of fun - so well done you and your art group.

Thank you Robert. The exercise was all of those things and I agree with the analysis. Would I do it again -unlikely. Did I learn anything from it -not really but it did help loosen up the watercolour by way of 'accidents'
