Thanks for all your encouraging comments. I have a tendency to lay on watercolour somewhat like gouache & I am trying to lighten up my technique in order to take advantage of the lovely luminous quality of the medium. I appreciate your advice on softening off the distant hill David. Now you mention it it's obvious & I'll bear it in mind for the future.
