Emley Moor. (From Austonley)

I like this a lot and the mast makes for a good focal point

Thank you for your comment Heather.

Love this Brian, I think a subject like this needs detail.Has a nice design, my eye wanders through the gap by the cottages and onto that huge mast. Quite a ‘temporary’ structure!

Cheers Stephen, this is the permanent structure, the temporary mast is a steel structure not quite as high. It dominates the skyline for miles around.

How do you make a good subject out of the highest freestanding tower in Britain? This is how it’s done! A good painting and you meet the challenge of painting trees very well. Greens can always be a problem.

Thanks for your comments Frank. Emley moor mast stands prominent on many of our local walks & I must have taken dozens of photographs from all angles. All this in the firm belief that there must be a good picture somewhere. I think this is the closest I’ve come to it.

Really nice watercolour Brian

The telecommunications transmitting mast serving Yorkshire & surrounding counties. Here shown pre March 2018 when a temporary mast was erected in order to make some modifications to “The Arqiva Tower. I think somewhat overworked, perhaps I should invest in a 4” brush & throw the rest away.
