Cote de Bradfield.

I love the gentle feel to this painting and just want to be in such a beautiful place.

A beautiful scene, beautifully painted.

Great title .. great painting!

This is great, Brian: lovely view, beautiful greens and perfectly executed. Love it!

Thanks for your encouraging comments Diana, Paul, Heather & Mia, I think I managed to salvage it somewhat with the finishing touches. It truly is wonderful countryside around the Bradfields just great for walking & only minutes outside Sheffield.

A lovely painting of a lovely scene.

Beautifully painted idyllic scene Brian, wonderful handling of greens too.

Thank you for your comments David & Fiona. Really appreciate your comment on greens Fiona as it is must my most un-favoured colour. I avoid it like the plague as its so easy to get wrong & has been responsible for many disappointments. Perhaps I'm turning the corner.

I avoid greens when I can Brian. They are difficult to get a good variation in but yours reflect the time of year and are not overdone.

Lovely painting Brian, feel like racing down the hill.

Lovely painting

Thanks Derek & Romila. Racing downhill would be fine but I'm no Chris Froome so uphill is definitely out.

Nothing wrong with your greens - if you want a tutorial on mixing greens, just ask on the Forum: 'cause one thing I CAN do is mix greens! But these work just fine, and the painting is a fine watercolour: I watched the Tour de France on TV (not all that willingly, I was keeping a sick friend company at the time) and the scenery in this part of the world was easily the best part of it: lycra-clad backsides and .... things.... quickly lose their appeal.

Thanks for your comments Robert. I find it reassuring that someone, other than my therapist confirms that my greens are really not that bad. I feel that constructive feedback helps me "up my game" & I'm always keen to improve. When it comes to lycra shorts however, I have to admit my bum does look big in them.

Really lovely. I want to see what’s down the road.

A truly excellent painting

Thanks Paula & Paul. We are at High Bradfield against the Old Horns Inn and the impressive St Nicolas's church looking down to Lower Bradfield. Here, if there isn't a cricket match in progress everyone enjoys a picnic on the pitch or takes a stroll around the reservoir. It is idyllic on a warm summers day.

Lovely greenery, as has had been much mentioned, one thing I did notice however is that the chimney stack is exactly in line with the background hill, a teacher was always grumbling about that in a class I went to.

A watercolour view of what was the 2014 Tour de France climb between the pretty villages of Lower & Upper Bradfield on route to Sheffield. Known since (complete with road signage) as Cote de Bradfield.
