I really like this. Watercolour with white acrylic for the highlights? I'm a bit new to painting so trying to gather tips as I go.

I use acrylic white where I can't use the white of the paper Patty, because watercolour white (at least the type I buy) is pretty poor for highlighting. Each to their own in art. If it works for you, use it.

Jim, I found your painting today by accident because I ran a search. I am really proud that I have inspired another artist. The colour and form in this are brilliant, really worthy of the original delft painters.
