Very impressive painting, Jim - did you do this plein air?

No Jan, thanks for the comment but it's actually just imagination as I'm an armchair traveller these days, but I've seen enough beaches and shorelines that puting it in paint was no trouble...I did it as an idea with the intent of a painting later maybe, and I can see faults already so it was useful for that..(-:

Thanks both. My father was a Mayo man Dermot ( lived only seven miles from Knock) and once, on a visit there, in my very tender years, I took a sketch book with me and came home without drawing a thing. This was mainly due to my dad's passion for walking and visiting the relations. We walked a million miles because in rural Ireland, as you well know, every place is "just around the next bend".... (-:
