Catching the last bat home

Catching the last bat home

Hi Bob I love your wee person and your story...she looks as if she has had a good time where ever she's been and the bat not best pleased...lovely imaginative painting

Thanks Patsy. I did a doodle of the Faerie creature and decided that she really needed to be doing something so I gave her a bat to ride on. I think the bat is probably the last one home too and ends up giving the wee folk a lift all the time. Probably why he's a grumpy puss.

It is a well known fact (well to me anyway) that the Wee folk have to be home before daybreak. One or two of them get a bit carried away with their evening revels (getting a little merry on acorn wine etc) and are a bit tardy about this. To this end they have an arrangement whereby they can hitch a lift on a passing bat as it returns to its roost for the day. Hence the title of this piece. Watercolour with several ink glazes. 11" x 8" approx.
