Well, I can't speak for you, but - I suspect you go back to watercolour BECAUSE it's so different to handle. Plus, in no other medium do you get this melting and spreading of colour, which is beyond our precise control - watercolour does things that take us by surprise. That's why I use it, even though I would never claim to be equal to its challenges.
