I like what may be called the semi abstract quality of this picture and the colour combinations and tonal values. Although you have used thicker paint it still clearly shows aerial perspective It reminds me of some of the semi abstract paintings that Turner did in his later years as his own personal vision grew Really well done.

Gorgeous.

I really like the colours and the softness of this.

I am more than flattered by your comment.I have studied Turner all my life for the last 5o years. I have studied art history as have both my daughters who went to Liverpool University. We have all looked at art history. It is one thing to copy and another to be influenced. Thank you very John.

Beautiful soft colours and lovely misty quality.

Certainly has a Turner feel, impressive.

John has said it all - great painting.

Gorgeously expressive VI

Beautiful Val-Irene.

Beautiful colours and a style that allows the imagination to see into the image. -

I did this some time ago and was never quite sure about the thin use of oil paints and felt it was an underpainting. I did not want to lose the atmosphere but have now painted over with my usual thicker brushstrokes.
