Just to add. The foreground tree is another horizontal one. This time a hawthorn

Quite an intricate panting, Martin and done so beautifully!

Marvellous composition.

Amazing detail of this fallen oak tree and the Hawthorn too, nice watercolour and really beautifully rendered for this sighting where nature transplants and regrowth takes place!

I love the way trees and nature fight back and this is a very good painting too.

What a beauty Martin, super structures variety in this piece

Great description. You can't keep a good tree down. You find some interesting views. Excellent work.

It’s nicely painted, and I like the deep shadow at bottom.

A very well painted and good observation Martin.

I like natures philosophy Martin, I try and adopted your title in my own life……. 😂 Great subject and painting…..as always.

Superb detail. Wonderful tree shapes and beautiful work.

Thanks David Stephen Angela Heather John Lewis Art Chris Fiona Spencer. Always appreciate your feedback. Keep up the fight Fiona! 😀

I will Martin, I’m too stubborn not to! 😂

Your delicate detail is always present. Another interesting and lovely study.

I like this very much Martin because it is not just a picture to look at that is painted well it is about your thoughts and the concept of nature that makes a good artist....

Some great details in this Martin. Very well observed.

Thanks Marjorie John and David for your well thought comments. I do appreciate them

This remarkable oak must have fallen towards the pond, grown back on itself like a u bend and sprouted branches which look like a line of trees at first glance. It’s also been cut where ivy now covers the stump. At St Catherine’s Lily Pond, Doncaster. Watercolour on Saunders hp paper 16x12”
