Super work. It makes you wonder how these branches grow this way.

I love trees Martin, and this one is very well observed. Just think its been standing there about 100 years or more.

A real beauty, Martin. Love the rays of light!!

My kind of tree painting, excellent work.

Really good Martin

You have a real talent with trees Martin, and all their tangly ways! Very good.

This is brilliant Martin. The texture and structure of the tree is really good against the misty background.

Really eye catching this one Mar5in.

Interesting way of working Martin, but I get the idea…that tree is really fabulous!

Your observations are much appreciated everyone. Thank you

Superb artwork Martin.

Very authentic looking old tree, well observed.

Wish I could do trees like this Martin. It isn’t just the image you capture, there is that extra ‘life,’ I’m sure if I looked long enough I would see movement in the branches and twigs! Love it …….

Very interesting how you achieved such a painting. It’s a magnificent tree.

Fabulous Martin. Love the texture in the tree.

Thanks everyone. Really appreciate your comments

Wonderfully twisted branches from this oak tree entice me to draw it again. Started en plein air with Fude pen and ink made up from walnut ink and carbon ink in a 20:1 ratio. I then flooded the paper and allowed the inks to bleed. When dry I had to redraw much of the picture as the lines had largely disappeared. Added watercolour washes to finish.
