Oh my gosh, those birdies. The whole scene is stunning. Peace, calm, beautifully done through complicated simplicity, so hard to achieve. I love the lemon water. Well, the whole painting.

Started en plein air with pen and ink in November and completed in studio with watercolour. Cropped the bottom two thirds as it didn’t work but I quite liked the distance. On Saunders hp 16x5” approximately
