Beautiful dog portrait

Rescue is ALWAYS the best breed! What a lovely looking boy and what a great painting.

Our best ever dog was a rescue - AND she lived for 19 years; and was beautiful. I won't run on about her when the subject should be this painting, but rescue dogs KNOW they're being rescued, and repay you so many times over the years. This is a fine painting of a happy dog who knows just what you've done for him, and to be quite honest - it made the old lip quiver just a bit.

He is gorgeous and you have painted him beautifully.

This is a gorgeous painting done extremely well! George look so calm and contented. Hope he was a patient sitter for you!

Brilliant...both painting and story. Rescued animals are always the best.. ask my Sam.

What a lovely dog and a superb portrait. He looks very much at home!

Aww how lovely 😍

Lovely painting of a contented dog - I like the background pattern and colours, complements the portrait nicely. We’ve also had mostly rescue dogs, a beautiful collie at the moment.

George looks a picture of contentment - a very beautiful painting!

Gorgeous! Such an endearing portrait and those dreamy eyes, too cute!

Just lovely!

Cute and well painted.

What a superb dog and your painting is wonderful!

Thanks for your generous comments. Really appreciated. You are all right about rescue dogs. They are special

This is George, our slightly bonkers but handsome rescue dog of unknown origin. He was found wandering somewhere in Warwickshire, put in the pound and was 24 hours away from being put to sleep when Mayflower Sanctuary at Bawtry accepted him. Six months later we visited and immediately took to each other. He soon made himself at home!!! Acrylic on canvas 24x20”
