The last Train through Randalstown
Oil on 3mm Plywood sheet. 26ins x 36ins My painting is really two scenes, ' then and now.' I was inspired by an early morning walk by the River Maine in our village where our house was built over the old railway line that came off the viaduct. The viaduct and road bridge still exist today, but the last train to Belfast passed through Randalstown in October 1959.
