Such confident brushwork with a fresh (if not cold) feel to it. Now to get near the fire. :-)

Lovely scene, great work on the sky, very apt with the weather at the moment

Super sky which adds so much to the atmosphere of this painting. Limited palette works very well.

Like the freeness of the composition and the colour co-ordination between the sky and buildings.

Lovely bright clean washes, the reflection is a good addition.

Crisp, dramatic and lovely use of colour and shapes.

my favourite part of this painting is the sky you have created, it is so full of atmosphere and drama :-) I also like how you have created the snow, :-) i cannot do snow in a painting.

Thank you all for stopping and looking and of course for commenting. Sadly I've not done many watercolours of late however I've been brushing up my drawing skills (see post " Fond Farewell") and also still attending at our local life drawing group.

Lovely colours in this and a super painting :)

Watercolour on Saunders Warterford 140lbs not pressed paper using Rembrandt watercolours. Size A3, painted in Jan 2008. This is a scene taken from a daytime photograph of this winter scene. Here I have added drama to the sky giving it an early evening glow which has added warmth to a very cold rendering of the landscape. In addition I added the icy pool to reflect the buildings to break up the expanse of snow. It's just the picture for today
