Very nice Bald eagle

This is a lovely Eagle, I really like the white feathers against the dark background. I'm fairly new to pastels and was just wondering if you have done this on black paper or used pastels for the background?

Thank you Paul for your nice comment. Andrea, as to the background, I actually used black pastel on a dark charcoal Le Carte paper.It makes it look like velvet on the original. I just started pastels two years ago and am still experimenting with it. I've tried velour paper as well and that works great for furry animals but you can't blend like you can with Le Carte.
