Perfect and stunning. He is alive. So very well done.

"perfectly observed" were the words that struck me before I saw Beatrice's comment. Well done indeed; and a big handsome dog.

Oh well done; such a strong painting.

Love your animal paintings you really seem to catch the animals character and personality They look alive is what Iam trying to say. Well done

thank you so much for your kind comments. This one was a gift for my dad as it is his dog, Roxy. She is the only Rottweiler i know of without a cropped tail. My dad jokes that they crop their tails so people would not see what scaredy dogs they really are as Roxy's tail is always tucked between her legs!! She is a huge dog but very loving and sweet.

I love this one- very much alive.

Just lovely, well done.

Wow, pastels don't some much better than that. Excellent work.

Stunning pastel work.

Thank you all so much. Your comments really mean a lot to me.

thank you so much. I really enjoy going to this website and getting a pat on the head once in a while. I've been in a funk lately and can't decide what to do next. I am getting plenty of inspiration for looking at everyone else's portfolios. thank you again for the kind words.

Marcia, WOW, this is amazing. You've done a really fantastic piece of work here. I also like the background, you've given me an idea for the background of Max the Boxer. Do have a look as you may be able to give me advice on getting his body right, am struggling at the moment. Again, nice work. Haven't heard of the paper Le Carte, have used Ingres, Velour and Canson but no this one. What colour did you use? I tend to go for sand colours or grey. Take care, Jill

Hello Jill. So sorry it took so long to answer. I haven't been on the computer in a while. Thank you so much for your comments. The LE Carte paper is from Rembrandt and it is a synthetic rough paper similar to sand paper only not as harsh as sandpaper. I used a dark grey background. This paper has a lot of tooth so you can really layer a lot of colors on but the only thing you have to be careful of is not to get it wet as it is made of vegetable fibers and the tooth with just disolve if it gets wet. I would be happy to see your Boxer. Have you completed it yet??
