Fallen Tree

The tree branches form such a wonderful design Anthony. A painting I could look at for hours.

A lovely composition well spotted Anthony. I like the movement but also the tranquility of this.

Love this Anthony - the branches tie it together and the sky is great.

Superb work, you have captured the winter starkness really well.

Such a clever composition painted beautifully

I really like this composition. The starkness and atmosphere is punctuated by the dark branches and heathland.

An image adapted from a photo, taken a few months ago. Under a winter sky the fallen tree on the horizon had finally given way and no longer stands upright and proud. I was taken by the way the foreground branches seemed to form an arch over it. I had hoped that some vestige of life would remain, but alas, a few days ago I passed this spot and in mid summer, it still lays stark and leafless, On unstretched canvas, in acrylic, exploiting a range of techniques available in this medium
