Tree Laying down by Anthony Stubbs
An image adapted from a photo, taken a few months ago. Under a winter sky the fallen tree on the horizon had finally given way and no longer stands upright and proud. I was taken by the way the foreground branches seemed to form an arch over it. I had hoped that some vestige of life would remain, but alas, a few days ago I passed this spot and in mid summer, it still lays stark and leafless, On unstretched canvas, in acrylic, exploiting a range of techniques available in this medium
