To me this is full of character and life. I love the way you've suggested the clouds and their reflection suggested even less in the water. Empty is a point of view. Beauty is too. Everything is really. I would love to be on a seashore on a cloudy day maybe at dawn. I would feel the ions burning but that's just me.

An attempt to evoke a feeling of damp emptiness. Using pastels to extract the image of a lonely beach on a cloudy day purely from within my own mind. Executed fairly quickly using soft and hard pastels and charcoal pencil.
