How clever and you're right of course!

Very well done Anthony. The decomposition of the wood does lead to an element of abstraction which is so well encapsulated here.

It works as an abstract and a representable painting. Great colour and energy Anthony.

No, not meant to be abstract but in fact a piece of decaying birchwood lying on the woodland floor. On its way back to the earth and en-route providing sustenance for a multitude of new life. It did strike me that a commonplace thing, when taken out of context can take on a look of abstraction. So if this can be appreciated as an abstract composition, then that is absolutely fine. In acrylic on unstretched canvas using a wide variety on implements and brushes.
