Chadburn Lake - the narrows

Chadburn Lake - the narrows

A beautiful clean painting, I can only think it is the unsoiled atmosphere of the area and your painterly talent that gives this timeless scene its clarity. Nice work.

I remember visiting Chadburn Lake. Well done with the water. Beautiful painting.

Watercolour and Graphite, 9.5 inches by 7.5 inches. Drive South a short distance from Whitehorse - the capital of Yukon Territory in Canada - and you come to Chadburn Lake. The painting shows a view of the narrows of this lake. Beyond the narrows the lake opens up into a large expanse of water. This watercolour painting started as a quick sketch and some watercolour washes of the trees, of the lake and the hills. The kayak was added later as it seemed an essential addition to help lead the viewer into the narrows. This painting is one of three pictures I completed of Yukon Lake scenes. Regards to all, Tony (Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada)
