As first attempts go, it's brilliant. No doubt you've improved the technique, eg to get as much softness and depth in the hair as you've achieved in the skin tones, but the expression on the face, and the drawing, are excellently done.

I have tried to use the base colour of the paper to create the tones of the skin, This was one of my first attemps using this method......Idid get a fair likeness......i now try this often when doing portraits
