Very brave and well done. Smashing tones in this. I am not sure about her style - very clever and unusual. See you know a thing about proportions! One of my favourite media watermixables. Great.

I like this, and would like it even more if it didn't remind me of a schoolteacher of mine from 45 years ago, catching me at something I shouldn't be doing. It's the supercilious right eye that does it. Incidentally, I prefer this to anything I've seen of Jenny Saville's; she uses much thicker paint, and sculpts her forms; you've used pure colour, with touches of line. All the better for it, I think.

Oh what wonderful comments - they are so encouraging and inspiring - as painting is new to me this has certainly inspired me to carry on. I am still enjoying all styles and using all mediums - but do enjoy using the water solubles less messy than oils. I did in fact apply this with palette knives but it seems to have done the trick, giving a translucent wistful feel to the study. Yes, i did laugh with the reference to your a teacher of long ago - maybe they all looked like that in the dark ages!!! Mine did!!
