What a fantastic painting.Congratulations. Love it.

WOW! Thea, what a wonderful painting. Each element is so carefully and accurately rendered and the child's face is so full of expression. And yet it all holds together to form a most endearing portrait as well as a most professional picture.

Just caught you before you disappeared amongst all the Viviens !!

Beautiful piece....

A wonderful painting Thea. Lila seems so fragile though, take good care of her.

what a painting, colour and composition, lovely subject, this is top notch! and i bet you dont sell it although you could a hundred times over, well done can we see more please?

All of your work is brilliant. Would love to become as skilled as you.

This is highly talented work...I congratulate you on the entire gallery. Thank you so much for showing it; your work is an inspiration to me, and I am sure, to all of us on this site.

Ditto to Ruths comments.

Lovely, not a strand of hair at fault in the work, no wonder it was selected to tour

The portrait is of Penna's two-year-old daughter Lila, painted by natural, winter daylight in their home. Penna says of the portrait: 'I set out to capture the vulnerability that I, as her mother, see and feel all the time'. This painting was exhibited and then went on tour with the 'BP Portrait Awards 2010' exhibition,at the National Portrait Gallery. www.theapenna.co.uk
