The two small oils I'm posting today were done mainly with a knife, just the imprimatura was done with a large brush and a rag. They were done from photos taken withing 10 minutes of each other, the difference in colours was amazing! I painted them immediately from the photos so that I didn't lose my initial excited response. It was almost like painting plein air.
