Oh yes, very clear what you mean now Terence about not being sure which of the two waterfall postings you prefer this one or the pastel version, they do indeed both have different points of interest in them

This was painted in oils on a textured board 12" x 9". I used the water miscible oils as turps are forbidden at the group where I did the painting. The oils were a mixture of W & N Artisan and Jackson's own make, which I can recommend. I hadn't used oils for a few years and found it was great to get back to them again. There is something about the lovely buttery quality and the capability to move the paint round that I really like, it's a pity that they are so messy for home use. The subject is one of those charming little falls that are to be seen all over Lakeland. As an exercise, I also painted it in pastels which I'll post later - the effect is quite different.
