Slaters' Bridge by Terence McDonald

Terrence I have just had a wonderful wander round your gallery such beautiful work. This in particular is smashing. Lovely pen and wash. PS I would like to thank you for your comments on my latest pastel - very much appreciated.

I agree with Jeannette, a lovely pen and wash painting. The bridge is well painted as are the reflections. Like it a lot, well done.

Thanks ladies for your generous comments, I like pen and wash as a medium and often use it. The lakes are my favourite part of Britain and I always look at Tony Richards's Lakelandcam website where he photographs the area every day whatever the weather. Sadly I'm too old, fat and unfit to get up to the fell tops but I love looking at the views Tony takes and he has generously given me permission to use his pictures as a basis for my efforts.

This is based on one of Tony Richards's (lakelandcam) photographs - the Slaters' bridge in Little Langdale. It is Edding pen and wash on Saunders Waterford paper (12" x 9"). I heightened the white splashes on the stone with a white Neocolour water soluble white crayon.
