Badgers! Before I moved to Niton on the IW, I'd never seen a live badger in the flesh; now, the little wotsits wake me up every night, dig up the landlady's flower-beds, set the dogs barking, and I've had to separate one from one of those dogs to the lively danger of my legs and any other bits in reach... Sam would be a lot safer to handle: I wish I could meet him, but Wales is a long way away: if he keeps digging, he may get to me yet: though not if he confines his attentions to a pot of daffs; but then I don't suppose he does.
