I like it Sylvia, another completely different aspect to our January challenge.

A beautiful result for one hour of fun. I can see that you enjoyed doing this. Well done, Sylvia.

A charming scene Sylvia.

This has worked beautifully in charcoal, Sylvia. Especially love the way you have done the trees.

I don't think that a composition is short of any imaginative "ingredients." It is still a good composition and it sure is an eye catcher.. Beautiful work Sylvia! Also, I bet that you have very interesting stories about your work with children in Zambia. Maybe you could approach the editors and send them some stories to share with the rest of the readers?

A great version for this challenge Sylvia, love deep darks.

Beautifully drawn Sylvia. I love charcoal. This is a great representation.

Nice work Sylvia. Snow seems to be clearing a bit..(-:

I always love charcoal drawings, this is an interesting portrayal of this little Bob Ross cabin. I've not been inspired enough to give it a go yet! I can't get him out of my mind, but well done Sylvia for this effort.

Yes Alan has know exactly what you mean...poor man isprobable ensconced in his own little log cabin in his snowy Alps. Thanks everyone for looking and nice commenting. Yes Jola it was an interesting time in Zambia ( where are you from? ) . The kids were a delight. I enjoyed my time there .

I didn’t think of charcoal Sylvia, very effective medium on a subject like this....I can see all kinds of ‘things’ in the trees! Like it lots.

It’s worked well Sylvia. 👍🏻 Nice work.

Very effective and lovely Sylvia, so glad that it gave you enjoyment doing it.

I really like the feel of this, it's not like any of the others. It's dark and brooding.

More happy comments. Thank you .

This is a cracker Sylvia! So glad you have been able to join in the challenge.

Lovely to see a charcoal version Sylvia, it works really well with the chalk etc. So interesting to see all the different versions of this!

Very cosy scene Sylvia. Hope that log fire is burning.

Margaret, Tessa and Carole . Thanks for your positive comments 😊

Well done! A good charcoal drawing of what I originally felt was a bit of an uninspiring subject. After seeing yours and the others, it seems I was wrong and after thinking 'no way', I might just have a go!

Thanks Louise. Like you inspire it didn’t, but I enjoyed seeing other people’s efforts and thought... oh well why not. Then enjoyed myself...strange people us artists

This is fabulous, Sylvia - I really like the wonderfully confident use of charcoal that brings such immediacy and edge to the piece.
