Hi i have just been looking through your portfolio and like your landscapes very much . I particularly like this oil - it has a real impressionist feel to it and I can understand why you are pleased with it yourself. I have never tried oils myself - are they very difficult? Thank you for your kind comment on my painting "misty morning" This is quite old now but I think the greens are mainly Green Earth and Moss Green with indigo or yellow dropped in.

thanks for your comment. do try oil paints . its great fun especially as you can change the colours even after a day if you are not happy with the result - they dont dry so fast hence change is possible; you can use the palette and paint knives to create the effects like i did on this work which is mostly created thru knife usage ; and they are not as expensive. Only thing is that check if turpentine suits you , else try non smelly turpentine. Use turps with linseed oil in a 70:30 mix. i dont use linseed oil at all.

this is a small oil painting on canvas, around 6" x 8" and after I finished it, I added a varnish to it which gave an excellent glaze to it. i rather like the end result.
