Steve - no size given - but I think it's a great exercise well executed - not overdone or underdone - it could have been overly dramatic - it 's a dramatic subject anyway but you've kept it under control - nice volume to the forefront water too. cheers, Dai.H.

Thanks for your comment Dai... the size incidentally was approx 14"x18".... approx as it was just an offcut of MDF that was lying around.... definitely something i will paint on again as it 'feels' and handles totally different from canvas or paper

Great Painting Steve. I'm not sure I could have stopped myself from putting in a few ducks coming into land on the water. Very atmospheric work mate.

I love the light in this painting, limiting materials working at its best!

I love the turbulence of the sky in this painting in contrast to the underlying scene. Great painting...I felt pleased to have seen it.

I really like your painting, and I like the limited colours you use - it works well. I've enjoyed using mdf too. So far, I find it easier to paint on than canvas. Yes, your painting is beautiful. Thank you.

This reminds me of a Boxing Day walk at the point that the light is going and getting back to the fireside will be wonderful! Very atmospheric and you have executed extremely well a very tricky type of sky. Limited palette work is fun, gets us away from being lazy. Working in monochrome too is a good one.

Very atmospheric. Like it well done.

Never saw this when it was posted. I love it; it's atmospheric but not overdone.

Your gallery is great, and I love this painting, the mood, atmosphere, mystery. Well done!
