It's a lovely sketch, Stephen. Definitely do more, you do improve. Last year I sketched each day for two months, it was a discipline but I enjoyed it very much. Now I'm back to painting( don't have the time for both).

I've painted a couple of dozen pictures now, but have avoided sketches almost entirely, thinking that I'd be rubbish at drawing. After reading recent articles in Leisure Painter about the importance (and fun) of sketching I thought I'd give it a go. This is Penny, our cockapoo puppy who we're picking up next weekend, based on a photo that the breeder sent us.

I first started painting in March 2017 after a starter box of acrylic paints had sat on my shelf for fifteen years. After sorting out the tubes that had dried up and buying a better selection of brushes, I finally jumped into this wonderful hobby and I'm thoroughly enjoying it.
