Another beautiful painting Stephen, I love the colours

Lovely scene, Stephen and your distinctive colours again. I can hear the waves crashing in this one, and smell the salt of the sea.

Stephen I love your paintings, The pastel colours give a lovely feeling of light . One small technical but important point is that I have noticed that you slope reflections in the same direction as the reflected subject. A reflection should always slope in the opposite direction unless you are looking for an abstracted effect. If you are in any doubt about this lay a mirror face up on a flat surface and hold a pencil upright at right angles to the mirror surface. Then tilt the pencil to one side You will note the reflection tilts in the opposite direction ie directly below the pencil. This hold true for relections in water etc etc.

Great atmosphere Stephen, interesting comment Manus - I shall check it out!!

Another lovely painting, Stephen. Beautiful, soft colours and great perspective. I agree with Manus about the shadows especially with this painting where the figures stand out. The advantage with oils is that you can now just paint over the reflection shadow , then move it over a bit! I daren't ask how long this one took to paint - you've probably painted it in an hour again!

Manus thank you, you point is taken and work adjusted.

Thanks Pat, less actually lol..hence the reflection error..oh well will have to slow down perhaps. :O)

Another gem, Stephen. Like all your other paintings, this one has excellent atmosphere - very sunny, with great joie de vivre. It's very beautiful.

Seok , thank you as ever for your kind words.
