Summer shadows.

A lovely tranquil scene Stephen but isn’t it sad that summer has gone. Your painting can remind us of the joy of summer though.

There’s a real sense of looking beyond the shade into the sunshine.

A lovely reminder of summer, Stephen!

Very many thanks, Carole, Marjorie and Anne, for your encouraging comments.

Thats lovely Stephen, I'm just beginning to use a hake brush, I wondered what size your painting is.

You have smashed it with this one, Stephen! What an absolutely superb painting! Just love the scene and the dog walker really finishes it off so well!

Many thanks for your finely comments, Judith and David. The painting is A4 size, on Bockingford, Not paper. Which works well with this ‘loose’ approach. Wesson, Ranaon etc, used it. The Hake brush, holds a lot of water so you need to use a thicker mix of paint.

Has a lovely quality to it

Very nice painting, a really peaceful moment captured .

Many thanks Heather and Paul. I think that often the simplest compositions work best with watercolour, once I get bogged down with detail, the end is nigh!

You have done really well with this. I like it.

Well done Stephen - lovely result.

Many thanks Spencer and Dympna.

Very different from my last post, copying a fairly detailed village scene. Here I mostly used a Hake brush, painting from a recent photo of mine, trying to get a wide range of tones.
