My all time favourite place! Nice one Stephen…

Many thanks Alan. I visited it some years ago on a painting holiday, lovely weather and lovely people.

Even better. If I may say one thing and it may just be the photo, I think it might benefit even more for the tiniest adjustment on the water horizon so the sky and the water don't appear to be as one?

Excellent painting , I agree with Alan it’s a superb place and one I was fortunate to live quite near unfortunately I didn’t paint back then sadly.

Great example Stephen. I’ve never been but would like to.

Many thanks Heather, I think you are right, the water should be progressively stronger toned I suppose, towards the foreground.

Many thanks, Heather, Paul, Coral and Fiona, for your encouraging comments.

A lovely well painted composition

I can tell the tonal differences today but like Heather I think that you could add a little more depth to the horizon point where the sky and water meet.

Looking at the original watercolour, on page 36 of ‘the watercolours of Edward Wesson’ by Steve Hall and Barry Miles. Mr.Wesson’s sky is actually much paler than mine, while the sea is a similar tone. That’s probably the problem with mine! I would never make a forger!!

Decided to strengthen the tones a little.
