Wow, a cracker Stephen!

Lovely atmosphere here Stephen and a very nice painting

You're getting to grips nicely with this technique Stephen, this is a beauty.

Excellent work Stephen .

Very many thanks, David, Alan and Jim for your encouraging comments. I remember the late Ray Campbell Smith saying that often the simplest treatments in watercolour work the best.

Excellent Stephen, lovely background and reflections and the light in the sky from the right is superbly painted, very atmospheric I really like it.

Many thanks Barry, however I can't take credit for the light in the sky at the right, as it is the result of a desk light. I was worried that people might ask why the shadows are coming from the left!

Very atmospheric, great colours

Great watercolour Stephen, the colours are gentle and great reflections.

It is lovely! Great reflections and sky.

Terrific soft effect Stephen with great reflections.

Many thanks Linda and Monica.

This is a beauty Stephen, really stood out.

Many thanks, Brian and Carole.

This really is an eye catcher, Stephen. Very, very good.

Desk light or not, this is very beautiful and this technique is worth trying out on one of your own photos, cos you can!

Many thanks Gudrun, food for thought.

First class.!!! Love this one Stephen.

One of your best, Stephen! Lovely.

Many thanks Ann and Jennifer.

Super the way that light kind off filters through Stephen. You will have to frame this one, a real beauty.

Very nice painting Stephen, did you use a Ron Ranson hake?

Very nice Stephen. Such good water and reflections!

That's beautiful work Stephen

Many thanks, John, Chris, Louise and Maureen, for your very encouraging comments, much appreciated.

Colin Steed artist and tutor. Lovely winter landscape Stephen. The fact that you have used some warm colour with a touch of cool blue here and there really works in a snow scene. Brilliant!!

Many thanks for your kind comment Colin, much appreciated.

Based this on a photo in an old Ron Ranson book, birds are mine though! I am enjoying these larger, wet in wet efforts.

I am a self taught amateur painter, I mostly paint landscapes in watercolour but I 'dabble' in other mediums from time to time. I really enjoy my art, especially painting outdoors when the weather allows.
