Great work Stephen lovely colourful piece. I'd like to see you do the same painting with a more solid tree I think it would look great . I do hope you don't mind me saying that Stephen , I say it with good intention mate .

Many thanks Graham, Fiona and Dennis. Advice and comments always welcome.

Stephen, love the snow in a watercolour, well captured virgin paper keepin it crisp.

Wonderful snow scene with feeling of peace.

Many thanks Cesarean.

Apologies Cesare for the predictive text error.

I have just joined p-o and am finding my way around. Thank you for your very generous comments on my recent postings. <br />I love your Wylye Valley painting - I do a lot of snow scenes and find them fascinating. Ted Wesson certainly knew the trick - get as much contrast in tones as possible as it makes the snow &#39;shine&#39; (from p 117 I think) Well done, Stephen. Tony Taylor

Many thanks Tony, well spotted, it is on page 117! Mr. Wesson influenced many water colourists, I think James Fletcher Watson was an admirer of his work.

Stephen Slater

I am a self taught amateur painter, I mostly paint landscapes in watercolour but I 'dabble' in other mediums from time to time. I really enjoy my art, especially painting outdoors when the weather allows.
