Delph Cottages by Stephen Slater

Roads spoil many a village but this looks a really great place to paint and you've clearly done it justice here.

There's a very quiet and still atmosphere that infuses this painting, so redolent of English village life. Very well done, Stephen!

the composition clearly reflects the countryside and the colours reflect a sombreness! A stillness in the surroundings and one wonders what the boy is going home to as the high wall feels forbidding. ! Nice work.
