Roads spoil many a village but this looks a really great place to paint and you've clearly done it justice here.

Dear Stephen, thanks for your generous comments on my work - and apologies for not always reciprocating. I love your use of greens (conspicuous by their absence in my stuff) and your fine tranquil landscapes. A real tonic after my often febrile creations!

the composition clearly reflects the countryside and the colours reflect a sombreness! A stillness in the surroundings and one wonders what the boy is going home to as the high wall feels forbidding. ! Nice work.

I spent a happy couple of hours in the company of fellow members of Rochdale art society today, sketching and painting in the lovely West Yorks village of Delph. Not so quiet mind you, as an 'A' road runs through the village!
