Yes - an improvement on an already good painting - great tonal values Stephen

Lovely painting Stephen

Many thanks Michael and Glennis for your encouraging comments.

Agree with Michael - it was an excellent piece made better.

Thanks once again Seok.

It was well worth the extra attention. It says hello rather than goodbye, well done.

Many thanks Fred for your comments, it's a good phrase to use that.

Well you see - take my advice and you won't go far wrong. Ahem. I think this is sharper, and has much greater depth. So well done: I didn't realize you were working on cartridge paper when I first commented - VERY demanding surface.... only the heaviest weights will ever repay its use. Once cartridge paper cockles, you can't do a thing with it - even the very lightest watercolour paper is more forgiving. But - when it DOES work, it's a dream. Good point from Fred, by the way.

Thanks for your sage advice Robert, must remember to add more shadows.

I decided to take Roberts advice and add more shadows. I think it has improved things.

I am a self taught amateur painter, I mostly paint landscapes in watercolour but I 'dabble' in other mediums from time to time. I really enjoy my art, especially painting outdoors when the weather allows.
