I had the same problems yesterday on the banks of the River Soar - the wind was so strong I had to abandon the exercise so I take my hat off to you for producing this little gem

Definitely very fresh and spontaneous. Love all the blurring where the paints have merged. Great glowering sky as well.

Love this lovely loose landscape Stephen, love the water and background view, hanks very much for your comment on my pastel portrait of Nelson Mandela, really pleased you like it was not clear that it was going to work out successfully until I was well into the portrait, but am pleased with the outcome, thanks again Stephen

After attending the re- opening ceremony at the visitors centre gallery, I thought I would paint a quick watercolour, looking across the lake. When I sat down at the edge of the lake, I found the wind was stronger and the temperature lower than I thought! So I did a very quick sketch in an A3 cartridge pad. It's probably turned out fresher than a larger watercolour would have done!
