Thanks for great comments everyone. I tend to block in with W&N Acrylics and then finish off details, blending etc with W&N Water Mixable Oils. I wish I could say something astounding about the brush I used for the leaves of the book but, in reality, it is merely a favourite old brush of unknown vintage and parentage that has lost more than a few of its bristles!! :-)

Lovely! The poppy looks so ornate poised upon the book cover and like the leaves as has a vintage effect!
