2019 – Watercolour and Pastel – cm 39x49 This is a view from our garden room, looking towards the south, over the winter months. A lot of thought is spent in planning the composition. A careful drawing helps me detect the major shapes, values and lines and to organize the various elements in a harmonious whole. The sky in the landscape is a major feature as it affects the mood. In addition the shapes of the cloud can strengthen the composition and lead the eye towards a focal point.
