Arlequin Street Party - 2019 - Watercolour and Pastel – cm 38x38 In this painting Arlequin is performing a graceful dance with a masked friend. His character is complex and fascinating. In my opinion he personifies the archetype of the Joker or the Trickster. Arlequin is a mixture of ignorance, innocence, quick wit and cunning. He can be charming and deceitful, weeps copiously over his misbehaviour and in no time his grief turns into dance laughter.
