The two colours have created a lovely atmosphere Sharon. I like the hazy figures.

Yes, lovely use of wash (and colours,) and as Louise has said, it has a great atmosphere.

Well, that's a mixture I shall use myself - it's produced a marvellous study. The painting has an atmosphere which might have been harder to capture with a whole range of colours. I get the impression you found it a struggle, though? (I can't tell that from the painting, but from your remark about this being the last attempt for the moment.)

Love the atmosphere in this Sharon, you've done a great job with the two colours.

Lovely darks. I'm tempted to buy a tube of Quin. Gold!

Appreciate your interest and comments. They do make really deep darks don't they ; but also jewel-like combinations when side by side (as Louise has proved so well) And Q. gold is really versatile, on its own its beautifully transparent, and it also makes super greens as well. Worth an investment Bill. You're right Robert about the struggle : the struggle with the self-inflicted discipline not to sneak in the odd third pigment here and there. But it has been a most rewarding exercise as well, and lots of lessons learned. I'm now off to try a three-pigment composition - easy peasy after this last lot !

Latest - and for the moment, last - attempt at a two-pigment composition, trying for deep darks.. Quinacridone Gold and Winsor Violet. Based on a sketch I did earlier this year in Dordrecht.
