Gorgeous and indeed sumptuous rose watercolour, what is the SFP? Sharon anyway this should go down a storm, you should put the Ducks in as well!

As you found out, Louise, it is The Society of Floral Painters, and we are having an exhibition at The Vine - a National Trust property near Basingstoke - end of May, beginning of June. it will have some really stunning paintings - I am still a beginner compared to some of the members! If you are in the area, come and see us!

You have a lovely lightness of touch that really shows the transparency and elegance of the watercolours to perfection. I too would love to see the exhibition as I have recently joined the SFP as an associate member. Your painting is an inspiration.

Have just finished this rose painting for the SFP exhibition at the Vine in June. It is done on hot press paper, using many new (to me ) Daniel Smith colours, in many, very thin layers. The fade on the right hand side is deliberate!!
