Beautiful roses Sharon and I love the intense colours and the way they fade into the background

Not only more intense, but they glow ... did you actually alter your existing painting (brave!) or start a new one (safer...)? A lovely result, whatever you did.

Much more depth to the colour Sharon, it's sumptutous. Did you mix the colour to get the orange glow or is it straight from the tube?

Thank you all so much for your encouraging comments - Robert, I actually started again and did another picture. I'll probably cut up the first one and make cards from it. And Fiona, the colours are mixed on the paper - Indian yellow, translucent orange and a little perylene violet for the darks.

This is just beautiful; it glows. Such vibrant colours. Orange is such a difficult colour to get just right. The first painting is nice, very delicate but I much prefer this one. You have a really special touch with flowers.
