Happy Birthday Bella and Jonny. They look as if they can't wait to get their paws on that cake. A delightful watercolour.

I've just been through your gallery, you have great skill in depicting character and emotion from your hounds. Are they grey hounds?

Such a lovely picture. As always your control and skill with watercolour is superb.

I do think the cake could have been a little larger, especially as you had guests for tea! Lovely composition and such delicate colours - you capture the lightness of stature so well.

Oh my gosh!! These are amazing paintings!!! How talented are you? Love their names, what language is this? x

What a lovely subject for a painting......so full of character. Who got the short straw and ended up with the candle?!

You really know how to draw whippet, Seok Yam. This is a great painting and I love the expression on them....Happy birthday to them.

Happy birthday dear Bella and Jonny. Wonderful painting. No party hats HaHa!

Happy Birthday to all those gorgeous doggies. This is so amusing - their faces are so full of expression. Beautifully painted as usual with that delicate and light touch that you have. Great painting.

They all said it better than I can: this is so full of life!!! Stunning, you can paint anything you like, it will always be beautiful, Seok!

Wonderful - but will they fight over that one cake?

This is a beatiful composition. lovely and soft colours, the dogs are just great, I love it!

I see genuine love for your subject here, well done!

Wow! Lovely to wake up to all your very kind comments! Thank you everyone! Val and Robert, the muffin vanished so fast you would not believe it! And there was hardly any chance for a fight because Jonny tried to make off with it and so the muffin was swiftly extricated and divided between the three bottomless pits. Kirstie, it is a credit to you and a testament to your care that your poodle will be 14 this year. It's a grand old age, and he or she deserves a huge cake! Chito, they're not greyhounds, but a smaller, similar breed called whippets. They share a common ancestry with greyhounds. Brenda, yes, it was small, but it was a calorie bacon, cheese and polenta muffin, and so they had to be restricted to one because I did not want my whippets to end up looking like labradors! Angi, I imported the kids from Australia, so they all bear the Taejaan prefix. Taejaan is the name of the kennel from which they come. An illustrious name, and their breeder, Molly Rule-Steele, is a very talented breeder who has bred many generations of beautiful whippets. Fiona, no one thought the candle was the short end of the stick! They would have eaten it if I hadn't been quick enough to remove it! And Carol, yes, I did think of party hats, believe me, but since it was their birthday, I thought I'd spare them the humiliation!

A wonderful painting - the format and your limited palette. They're adorable and bravo to the artist who excells in so may spheres. Many thanks too for your lovely feedback. Avie.

Just Gorgeous!! Happy Birthday dear doggies! I wonder who finally resisted the temptation to grab the cupcake! Lovely, lovely, lovely watercolour!

Thank you so very much, Avril and Ruth!

Terrific Seok, but no more than we have come to expect, you certainly know your Whippets,

Thank you very much, William! I really appreciate your taking time to comment. Please come back! I really miss seeing your work!

This is sooo sweet.

Thank you very much, Lou! I am really flattered that this painting caught the attention of a very accomplished dog artist like you.

Hi again, thanks for your comments on Roland, he’s such a lovely Greyhound. The picture of your whippets looks good, facial expressions’ just look like Rolands at feeding time! I don’t do many paintings of animals, although I shall be uploading more this week end – Did you know the greyhound family are the only dog that can smile? Can I ask what part of the world you are based in?

I have only just joined PoL and looked your work up after your kind comments on my Lynx. I love the greyhounds especially this one.

SORRY Whippets 1,000 humble apologies !

Thank you very much, Rick! No need to apologize. They're really, for practical intents and purposes, smaller versions of greyhounds, so you're not really wrong.

Delightful portrait of the three of them looking so inquisitive and ready to dive into this treat, love how you have painted them on the chairs Seok, they could be children at a party! The way they are sitting there is just super!

Seok I am sorry to have missed out on this lovely portfolio. It is a real pleasure to discover it - the paintings are early characterful and this one in particular caught my eye.

Thanks so very much, Ros and Julie!

Birthday celebrations for my terrible twins, Bella (Taejaan Rumour Hasit) and Jonny (Sing. Ch. Taejaan Walk the Line), who turned 5 on February 5, 2011. Their cousin, Cara (Taejaan Portraito Alady) was an invited guest!
